How the Right Flooring Could Heat Up your Business
Business premises don’t have to have cold, hard wearing floors. Add some heated flooring to your business properties and see if your business starts to heat up too!
Through personalised touches such as plants, décor, pictures and soft furnishings, you can create a warm atmosphere that not only appeals to your staff, but to clients and customers too. Changing your flooring may be the key to creating that warmth and comfort. There are many factors to consider when choosing new heated flooring, so here are some pointers.
Wooden Flooring
Often wooden floors are associated with style, richness and elegance, and give a feeling of old fashioned warmth. Wooden floors have many pros and very few cons. They are durable and with care can last a lifetime. They’re also easy to clean and don’t absorb smells, and as they do not harbour allergens and dust mites, they’re perfect for people with allergies.
Wooden floors don’t go out of date and are fairly neutral, so you can add colour or patterns by other means. On the negative side, wooden floors are more expensive than other kinds of flooring. However, a cheap alternative is to get luxury vinyl tile (LVT) or vinyl flooring in wooden patterns and shades. By adding a shaggy rug or two you can transform a wooden floored room into a warm and welcoming space.
Carpets
Carpets are by far the warmest of floor coverings (unless you have underfloor heating). They are soft, springy to sit and walk on and they absorb sound. They can provide thermal insulation, making them not only a warm choice, but an energy efficient one too. Choose to go bold and bright, or opt for neutral carpets to provide a blank slate for your décor. It is also easier, quicker and cheaper to lay carpets than to install a wooden floor. Negatives include difficulty to clean and their ability to trap dust mites, pet hair and pollen, causing issues for people with allergies.
